Foray into Fauré

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2024 - 3PM

The PSO presents Gabriel Faure’s Requiem in partnership with the Arts Chorale of Winchester and St. James Choir of Warrenton. Additional works by Faure and Ravel will complete the concert.

PSO Holiday Concert: “Exsultate”

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2024 - 3PM

PSO welcomes back audience-favorite soprano Emily Casey to perform Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and other cherished sacred classics. Composer/conductor J. Thomas Mitchell returns to premiere his holiday work for soprano, and PSO Founding Conductor Emeritus Michael A. Hughes narrates a musical setting of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

PSO Young People’s Concert: “Carnival of the Animals”

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2025 - 3PM

The PSO Young Artists’ Competition has become a popular showcase of tomorrow’s musical talent. Experience the thrill of this live competition as three gifted musicians compete for scholarship prizes. Our Student Art Contest is centered on the enchanting Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.

PSO is proud to feature several soloists from within the orchestra in this spring chamber music offering. This dynamic concert will feature PSO members performing Mozart’s masterful Concerto for Flute and Harp and Beethoven’s Septet for Winds. It’s a springtime showcase of the incredible talent in YOUR PSO!

Sounds of Victory! The 80th Anniversary of the end of WWII

SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2025 - 5PM

PSO joins forces once again with the Silver Tones Swing Band for a high-octane collaboration of patriotic works and Big Band hits of the era. This performance celebrates the anniversary of V-Day, marking the end of WWII, and is a tribute to those who have served!
