He
is extremely active with the Fairfax Symphony's
S.C.O.R.E. outreach program, which takes symphony
musicians into area schools for side-by-side master
classes and concert performances. |
In
2005, he co-authored the Classical Kids Club, which
secured underwriting from Wachovia, the Boeing Corporation,
and Verizon.This multi-media program is presented
in over twenty Fairfax County Public Schools each
year. Mr. Quader also initiated the FSO Educational
Partnerships program between the Symphony and metropolitan
area youth orchestras. This new program presents
side-by-side workshops with symphony musicians,
in addition to master classes with featured soloists
throughout the FSO's subscription season. In 2006,
he launched a video podcast series which has been
featured by the American Symphony Orchestra League
in Symphony Magazine twice, as well as the Innovations
Forum at their annual conference in 2007. Subsequently,
this series garnered the FSO recognition as one
of the Top Three Finalists for the 2007 NPower Greater
DC Region Technology Innovation Award, which earned
the FSO a $20,000 technology grant. |
Mr. Quader's most recent professional appointment
includes Conductor of the newly-formed American
Studio Orchestra, which fuses music, audio visual
and graphic arts into multimedia concert experiences.
Proudly in residence at the Johns Hopkins University,
the ASO also serves as the resident studio orchestra
at Wrightway Studios, a renowned state of the art
4600 square-foot recording studio in Baltimore,
Maryland. Mr. Quader served as Assistant Conductor
for the Frederick Symphony Orchestra
from 2003-2009, where he appeared as a featured
soloist during the orchestra's 2005-06 subscription
season. Former recent positions also include Assistant
Conductor of the Columbia Orchestra
from 2003-2005, where he conducted and performed
on numerous subscription concerts, and Music Director/Conductor
of the Potomac Valley Youth Orchestra
from 2003-2006. |
In
2004, Mr. Quader conducted in the Cabrillo Contemporary
Music Festival in Santa Cruz, California where he
worked under Marin Alsop and Gustav Meier. In 2003,
he attended the Catania International Conducting
Institute in Sicily, under the direction of Robert
Gutter, Ovidiu Balan, and Tomasz Bugaj. That same
year, he also participated in the Sibelius Conducting
Master Course under the direction of Jorma Panula
with the Brasov Philharmonic, in
Romania. Prior to attending Peabody, Mr. Quader
served two seasons (2000-2001) as Music Director/Conductor
of the Broward Symphony Orchestra
based at Broward College. In 1999, he founded and
served as Artistic Director of the Florida
Youth Conservatory (FYC), which reached
a total student enrollment of over 550 musicians
participating in over 25 ensembles across all genres. |
Mr.
Quader's conducting appearances have included the
Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony, Brasov
Philharmonic (Romania), Bacau Philharmonic (Sicily),
White Noise Chamber Players - Ensemble in Residence
with the New World Symphony, Czech Virtuosi, Czech
Moravian Chamber Orchestra, and the Mendelssohn
Chamber Orchestra (Hungary). He has been an active
participant in workshops under the direction of
Marin Alsop, Jorma Panula, James Litton, Larry Rachleff,
and David Loebel. Mr. Quader's principal conducting
teachers have included Gustav Meier, Ovidiu Balan,
and James Brooks-Bruzzese. |
